The second part of the game returns to Crimea, the nation liberated at the end of Path of Radiance. The story hinges around Micaiah, a mage that leads the liberation of Daein. Part 1 ends with the Dawn Brigade successfully ousting the occupation forces, allowing Daein to regain its independence under the rulership of Pelleas. The Black Knight, a major antagonist that appeared in Path of Radiance, also returns as an ally of the Dawn Brigade.
